Port Chaplain: Joao and Rute Nereu

Joao and Rute visit cruise ships together. Rute works for the Bible Society in Portugal and Joao is a Process Energy Efficiency Manager. They have two children. Joao began to realise the difficulties and hardships of seafarers after visiting a ship at the age of 15. They faced many challenges obtaining permission to ship visit as no port missionary work had taken place at Lisbon for more than 50 years. Their first ship visit was in 2022
