Martin and Volker have worked as SCFS affiliate port chaplains at Hamburg for a number of years and are well respected throughout the maritime welfare sector for their resources for seafarers. Martin regularly invites seafarers to his home which they really enjoy and has written several books. Around 80,000 copies have been sent to maritime schools and manning agencies. Volker has written a number of Bible courses.

Micha & Lydia Lamaack
From the beginning of 2025, Lydia and Micha have been serving as missionaries among seafarers in the port of Hamburg. Micha completed theological training at the Bible School and holds a degree in Social Work & Diaconia. He is currently furthering his skills through a Master’s degree in Intercultural Theology, which equips him with valuable tools for ministry among the diverse cultures on board.
Lydia is a certified physiotherapist who joyfully works with children in a rehabilitation clinic. Alongside her profession, she supports the ministry to seafarers with great passion and dedication.
Together, they are committed to reaching out to seafarers with attentive care, practical help, and the message of hope and love.
