In June 2026 the Merchant Navy Welfare Board (MNWB) were offered a small stand at the annual Seawork exhibition in Southampton. Seawork is the proven platform to build business networks, drawing audiences from over 60 countries. MNWB's aim was firstly to show the wider maritime industry what MNWB is about. Whilst at the same time providing an opportunity for the 47 organisations that they support an opening to show what their organisations can offer seafarers.

Danny Yarker attended on behalf of SCFS. It proved a great opportunity not just to chat with the wider guests but also get to know and understand what the other maritime charities have to offer and how we can work together for the benefit of the seafarers. Danny joined representatives from Safer Waves and the Sailors Children Society at the stand on the first day. It was a great experience and thoroughly worthwhile.
