SCFS at Bangor Worldwide Missionary Convention

For 90 years, the Bangor Worldwide Missionary Convention in Northern Ireland, has brought Christians together to hear inspiring stories of God's work across the globe and to learn more about mission opportunities both at home and overseas. A highlight of the Convention is the Global Village, where mission organisations from a wide range of ministries host exhibition stands, share their work, and connect with supporters and visitors.

This year, as Bangor Worldwide celebrates its 90th anniversary, SCFS was delighted to be represented in the Global Village while also marking our own milestone of 180 years of serving seafarers with compassion.

The first evening of the Global Village was a wonderful opportunity to meet many friends, supporters, and those interested in learning more about our ministry. A special word of thanks goes to Ruth Balfour and Hazel Carson, two of our dedicated ship visitor volunteers, for their invaluable help at the stand on the opening night.

The Global Village was open each evening from 6.30pm to 7.15pm and again from 9.00pm to 10.15pm following the service, giving visitors plenty of opportunity to discover more about mission work around the world.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our stand to say hello. It was a real encouragement to meet so many of our supporters and to make new connections throughout the week. We are also grateful to all who helped at the SCFS stand during the Convention, which was held at Bangor Elim Church.

It was a joy to share something of the ministry of SCFS and to join with others in celebrating what God is doing around the world through mission. We look forward to continuing these conversations and partnerships in the months ahead.
