When I first arrived, the crew mess room was empty, as the crew were taking part in a drill. Once the drill had finished, crew members began returning and coming to the table to collect materials.

One of the first to visit was Brian, from the Philippines. As he looked through the materials, he shared a touching memory from his childhood. He told me that when he was a little boy, his mother taught him many Bible verses, and one in particular had always stayed with him: “God is love” (1 John 4:8).

Brian is now a born-again believer, and it was encouraging to hear how Scripture had remained in his heart over the years.
