Cork Highlights

During October and November I have been blessed to visit many of our supporting churches throughout Ireland. It’s been busy, but very encouraging. We have been showered with well over a thousand woolly hats, and many Christmas presents for distribution on board. 252 have already
been given out with instructions for the Cooks to hide them away until Christmas Day. It will be a lovely surprise for them. Please pray they will read the Gospel contact sticker and find the Gospel message left for them. Click here to view  Seafarer Gift Items.

After another one of my church meetings Betty, who is 99 years old, spontaneously started playing nautical hymns on the piano! She has been playing for over 70 years and knew the tunes
and words off by heart. You can watch a snippet of it here.

Visiting Syrian and Egyptian crew in Greenore Port. Their ship had been in Cork, and I had been speaking in a nearby town that evening. Captain Wael said that they encountered 8m waves near Ireland! He said it’s very dangerous here!

Jae (Dublin Port) and I shared a church meeting, and shared the Christmas presents as well. Jae
and I enjoyed joint ministry to seafarers in Dublin. Here is a link to a video of us singing with
some of the crew.

I brought a Turkish assistant Cook to buy a fishing rod in Cork. He was so happy he kissed me on
each cheek! Using Microsoft Translator he told me “I will keep this hat as a memory for the rest of
my life!” His boss, the Chief Cook told me, “You are my most valuable friend. I will never forget you.
I love you.” Pray for the Turkish New Testament I gave him to become his most valuable friend.

It’s always a joy to bring seafarers to church with us. One of them said he hadn’t been at church for
around 5 years due to his very demanding work/ship contract schedule. Another was celebrating his
20th birthday, and as we arrived in church (just slightly late) they were singing Happy Birthday!!
They were so thankful for the opportunity to join us in 2 churches.

Happy crew from Myanmar receiving Christmas presents, hats, snacks calendars and scriptures.
Thank you to all our dear friends and supporters who enable us to minister so generously to the crew
who grace our shores. We continue distributing gifts until February, and in fact all year round prepare
gift packs for crew. I recently had a radio interview, which you can listen to, on Cork’s Life FM.

Wishing you a very Happy Christmas and a Blessed New Year!
God bless you!
