“Giving our hearts at Christmastime…”

Recently a carol kept ringing in my ears as I thought about those who faithfully support us in various ways:

"What can I give him, poor as I am? Give my heart..."

Not only the voluntary ship visitors, but also church families who donated a lot of the Christmas presents made this past Christmas season so special as they gave their hearts to God through sharing Jesus' love and compassion. I thank the Lord for your warm hearts which move the hearts of the seafarers and encourage me to meet them to extend God's Kingdom.

On the run up to Christmas, I had three groups of ship visitors. Firstly, there was, Jeff, the minister of Ballyalbany Presbyterian Church, with Ronnie and Norman. They were a great encouragement to all the crew from Romania, Greece and the Philippines as they led a carol service.

This was followed by Tristan and Joe. They led two carol services on board two different ships whose crew members are from Lithuania, Ukraine, Russia, Estonia, Sri Lanka and the Philippines.

John then joined me, and we visited four ships. John was so passionate in sharing God's Word with many seafarers on board as we led four carol services.

I praise the Lord for His goodness through His people like the ship visitors and you who are my extended family in Christ. With your love and care, I held 12 carol services the week preceding Christmas. Please pray for those seafarers who heard about what Jesus has done for salvation.

Some port managers, security staff, stevedores, lorry drivers, etc. also send a big thank you to all who donated the calendars, chocolates and woolly hats.

This morning I've just finished sharing in a carol service, as I celebrated a late Christmas with the crew on a container ship.
