Report by Alan Cowan, Youth Director
Hamilton Road Baptist Church, Bangor (NI)
This Christmas, Ham Bap Youth were truly blessed to welcome Sam Cowan and his dedicated team to Friday night Youth Club on 28th November. Their mission was simple but meaningful — to prepare as many gift packs as possible for Seafarers’ Christian Friends Society, as the Bag Pack for Belfast Harbour Seafarers was joyfully revived once again.

Sam captured the attention of every teenager as he shared a glimpse into God’s work among the men and women who live and labour at sea. He reminded us that many of them are responsible for delivering the food, goods, and everyday items we often take for granted.

We were also encouraged by Sharon Heasley, who kindly explained the practical support needed for the seafarers. She inspired our young people with a stirring reminder that they are created by God for a purpose, with limitless potential when they know and love Jesus and live for His glory.
What followed was a heart-warming picture of teamwork — young and old working side by side, sorting, preparing, and packing the gifts with energy and enthusiasm.

Every pair of hands mattered — from the eager teens to the not-so-young volunteers, all committed to the cause. It was a great weekend of laughter, learning, and service — a reminder that mission begins with hearts willing to help, and we look forward to the opportunity to join together again next year.
We pray these small acts of kindness will bless the seafarers who spend their Christmas far from home.
